APS performed turnkey general contracting services for this new construction niche Global Animal Partnership® certified sow complex consisting of five swine buildings, a manure storage building, and a mortality compost building. Three of the barns include large pens bedded with straw for gestation and two barns of individual birthing pens for the moms and piglets that is also bedded with straw and wood shavings. This facility is unique in that the pigs are not given any antibiotics, added hormones or growth promotants, and are fed an all-vegetarian diet. The automated feeding system for the complex is by Nedap.
